Hwang Ui-jo, accused of illegal filming, transfers to Turkye Alanyaspor on loan
Until the end of this season
Former national soccer team striker Hwang Ui-jo (31), who was suspected of illegal filming, left England and headed to the Turkic League.
Turkye Professional Football Alanyaspor announced on its website on the 6th (local time) that it has signed a lease contract with Hwang Ui-jo until the end of the 2023-2024 season.
Hwang Ui-jo, who left Bordeaux (France) and joined Nottingham in August 2022 and advanced to the English Premier League (EPL), was immediately loaned to Olympiacos (Greece), but did not perform well and was loaned to FC Seoul last year.
He returned to Nottingham ahead of the 2023-2024 season, but was pushed out of competition for the starting position and was loaned to Norwich City of the Championship (second division) in September last year, but returned to Nottingham in the last four months and left for the Turkic League.
As a result, Hwang Eui-jo, who could not even make his debut match in Nottingham, will continue his European career in Türkiye.
The new team, Alanyaspor, is ranked 14th in the Süper Lig this season (6 wins, 9 draws, 9 losses).
Hwang Ui-jo said that he asked defender Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich), a teammate of his national team, for advice on the Turkic League through the club.
He said, “We’ve talked before, not recently. “I told them it was a difficult and highly competitive league,” he said.
Kim Min-jae played for Turkye Fenerbahce in the 2021-2022 season, then went on to play in Naples (Italy) and is currently playing as a starting defender in Munich (Germany).
Meanwhile, Hwang Ui-jo is being investigated on charges of illegally filming sexual intercourse with his ex-lover.
Until the investigative agency comes to a clear conclusion, he was excluded from the national team and could not accompany the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup. 19가이드03
