How to Move Your Heavy Table Safely For Your Removal
If it’s time to move your house, you will surely have tricky items to relocate. Some pieces can be very heavy or bulky and difficult to move.
Among those items, mostly fridges, heavy tables, couches, pool tables or pianos are the most difficult.
Table requires special care and skills
How to move your heavy table?
There are different kinds of tables, and they are all different, depending on the material and structure.
Different kinds of tables:
- Wood
- Stone
- Marble
- Concrete
- Plastic
The heavier the table is, the harder it is, obviously. If made of concrete or marble, you obviously don’t want to drop it or chip it while relocating.
The best option would be to split the leg and the top of the table. As a result, it will be easier to transport.
Once you took off all the screws of your table, the base will come off easily.
We strongly recommend to bubble wrap your flat top in order to protect it during your move.
By doing so, you will avoid any small dents and chips that could potentially happen during the transport. Please note that marble, stone, and concrete tables are easily breakable and tend to get damaged, especially on the edges.
Use specific gears to move your heavy table
It’s important to use the right gears as moving the table to itself is definitely the hardest part.
You have first to assess the access of your pick up and delivery. Are there any steps? Flat driveway or flat access?
If you used wheels (with a dolly), it’s important to have flat surfaces. Otherwise, you might drop the table on the way.
The best option would be to use two dollies ( one on each side of the table ).
If you can get a Gyprok cart trolley from someone working in construction, it’s even better.
No gears? No problem!
If you have Joondalup removalists that can help, this would be the best solution. Two strong guys on each side of the table.
Don’t forget that if you have to pass any doors, you will have to flip the table.
Prepare your trailer or your truck.
Lay some cushions or thick blankets in order to protect your precious table from any damage.
Of course, if you used a Ute or any flat Tray transportation means, you will have to strap as it might move during the transport.
