How To Get Siri Suggestions off on Lock Screen
This article explains how to disable and remove suggestions from your Siri virtual assistant on iOS and Mac devices. These instructions apply to devices with iOS 12 or later and Mac OS X 10.9 or later.
How to turn off Siri Suggestions on iOS
If you are not interested in receiving suggestions from your virtual Siri Suggestions off on Lock Screen assistant, open the Settings app to disable the suggestions function.
- Open the Settings app from your home screen.
- Select Siri and search.
- Scroll down to the Siri Suggestions section and use the toggle buttons to select where the suggestions should appear: Search Suggestions, Search Suggestions, and Lock Screen Suggestions.
- Tap the three green buttons to completely disable Siri’s suggestion feature.
- Depending on the version of iOS, all three options may not be available.
How to remove suggestions from the Siri app on iOS
If you find Siri Suggestions helpful, but prefer that Siri not recommend a specific app, individually choose the apps you want to remove from the list of possible Suggestions.
- Open configuration.
- Touch Siri and Search.
- Scroll down and choose any app you want to remove from Siri Suggestions.
- Tap the Search, Tips & Shortcuts toggle switch to turn it off and blank. If you don’t see that option, use the switch next to Siri and Suggestions.

How to disable the Siri Suggestions widget
One last place you may find out that Siri is trying to provide recommendations is on the Today View screen. Follow these steps to access Today view and hide the Siri Suggestions widget:
- From the home screen, swipe right until Today view, a list of customizable widgets, appears.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Edit.
- Tap the red minus button next to Siri App Suggestions and then choose Delete.
- If there is a green plus button next to the option, Siri Suggestions are disabled.
