Age limit Criteria for Olympic 2024:
There is no age boundary in the women’s tournament at Paris Olympic 2024 and not the competitions that qualify National Olympic Committee squads for the upcoming Summer Games. In the men’s tournament, athletes born on or after 1 January 2001, aged 23 at the time of the Olympic Games 2024 are eligible to play in the contestants and competition matches of the upcoming Summer Games. Though, three footballers born before the mentioned date, above the age limit, can be included in the squad list of 18 players per team.

Europe: 2 quota places – UEFA Women’s Nations League (Autumn 2023 – Spring 2024). The two qualifiers earn a quota.
Oceania: 1 quota place – tournament TBD.
The USA. Canada loses the CONCACAF final and thus has a competition with Jamaica next year to book a spot at Paris 2024 Olympic.
South America: 2 quota places Brazil and Colombia – Copa America femenina.

Men’s
The 16 quota places for the Olympic 2024 Games men’s football competition will be distributed through qualification tournaments as follows:
Africa: 3.5 quota places (a 4th place can be obtained through a play-off match against an Asian NOC) – tournament TBD.
North, Central America, and the Caribbean: 2 quota places that are defined through the Concacaf Under 20 Winnership in Honduras (June 18th and July 4th, 2022): USA and Dominican Rep.

The Olympic Football Tournament has been involved in every Summer Olympic Games as a men’s competition sport, except in 1896 (the inaugural Games) and 1932 in an attempt to promote the new FIFA World Cup tournament. Women’s football was added to the official program at the Atlanta 1996 Games.
In order to avoid competition with the World Cup, FIFA has restricted the participation of elite players in the men’s tournament in various ways: currently, squads for the men’s tournament are required to be composed of players under 23 years of age, with three permitted exceptions. By comparison, the women’s football tournament is a full senior-level international tournament, second in prestige only to the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Paris 2024: The competition format for Olympic
For both the women’s and men’s tournaments, the competition consists of a round-robin group stage tracked by a hit stage. Squads are placed into groups of 4 squads, with each team playing each other team in its group once. Squads earn 3 points for the success, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. The top two squads in each group (as well as the top two third-place finishers, in the women’s tournament) advance to the knockout rounds. The knockout rounds are a single elimination tournament consisting of competitions, semifinals, and gold and bronze medal competitions.
Matches contain two halves of 45 minutes each. Since 2004, during the knockout rounds, if the game is tied after 90 minutes, two 15-minute halves of extra time are played extra time is skipped in favor of immediate consequence kicks in the bronze medal match if it is played on the same day in the same stadium as the gold medal match. If the score remains tied, penalty kicks, which are 5 rounds, favorable extra rounds if tied, are used to govern the winner.
