Homemade Eggless Vanilla Ice Cream
Vanilla ice cream has been a favorite and will always be a dessert that everyone likes inevitably. From children in the house to young adults and the elderly – everyone loves having a scoop of this dessert after dinner.
Why not try making it at home, instead of going to the ice cream or grocery store for such a simple thing? Yes, it is very easy.
To make delicious, mouthwatering ice cream at home follow this simple vanilla ice cream recipe.
Step 1
Take one and a half cup of chilled whole milk and add 3/4th cup of finely ground sugar. Whisk this solution to dissolve the sugar completely.
Step 2
Take a Vanilla pod and cut it open, scrape the center with the help of a pointed knife and add this scrapped mixture to a tablespoon of hot milk and mix thoroughly. Keep it aside for a few minutes for more infusion of flavor, before adding it to the whole milk. You will not forget the taste and fragrance, we bet.
Alternatively, you can also add vanilla essence to the mixture prepared in step 1. You will find vanilla essence available in any local market or grocery store. Vanilla essence is the key ingredient in the making of vanilla ice cream. It imparts the beautiful aroma to ice cream and makes it more delectable.
Step 3
Add a quarter teaspoon of fine salt to the milk and give it all a little whisk for everything to come together and the ingredients to form a homogenous mixture.
Step 4
Now pour this mixture in a shallow tin made of aluminum or plastic or steel, or you may use ice cream moulds available in the market. Refrigerate the ice cream for about half an hour and take it out, you will observe a semi-solid kind of consistency with little frozen bits here and there in the ice cream.
Step 5
Quickly, whisk this slightly cooled mixture a little more (before it starts to melt again) and keep it back in the refrigerator for half an hour.
Step 6
Repeat this process again and again for about 4 to 5 times. Every time, you will observe that the icecream is a little thicker and has a more creamy texture. After a while, the ice cream would gain the shape of the dish or the mould you kept it in. Within 4-5 hours, your vanilla ice cream is ready to serve.
Serve this ice cream with some garnishing of chocolate sauce and mini chocolate chips to enhance the taste. You may experiment a bit and add your favorite ingredients or fresh fruit pieces to make it your signature delicacy.
A quick tip – Add crumbled cookies, a handful of chopped almonds and some caramel sauce as topping for this delightful dessert.
