The new $60 million advance is the addition of about $65 million that the group has already advanced for the scheme and $34 million supplied by the group\'s indirectly wholly owned subsidiary.
The fresh US$60 million comprises US$30 million of Star Admiral Inc., a British Virgin Islands (BVI) company, an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of Suncity Group Holdings.
According to an independent third-party-owned filing, $30 million will be transferred to Gold Yield Enterprises Inc., another BVI company owned 50% by Star Admiral and 50% by AlphaEra Investments.
According to a filing from Suncity Group Holdings, interest on the loan is 14% per annum and interest accrued must be paid every three months.
Gold Yield Enterprises and its departments are primarily involved in the Hoiana initiative, a casino resort complex in Hoi An South, Quang Nam Province, Vietnam.
Gold Yield is in turn delivering money to Hoi An South Development Ltd., a Vietnamese-founded company and owner of the project.
The remaining $30 million of Hoiana\'s new $60 million comes from independently owned Alpha Era.
On Friday, Suncity Group Holdings, controlled by Macau junket boss Alvin Chauchukwa, told the Hong Kong Stock Exchange it had secured an agreement to extend the maturity date by "24 months" each to Aug. 28, 2022 for some interest-free convertible bonds and promissory notes.
The financial instrument helped the company acquire a 34% indirect stake in Hoiana\'s plan at a total cost of HK$600 million ($77.4 million).
Previews of Hoiana\'s operations, including casinos, began on June 28. Suncity Group Holdings said the full opening of the properties is set to take place in 2021.
