Gan 356 – The Ultimate 3×3 Rubik’s Cube
If you are a speedcuber looking for a cube with the perfect balance of affordability and performance, you should definitely check out the Gan 356. It offers premium features at a reasonable price, and has been used by Feliks Zemdegs to set the world record average of a 3×3 Rubik’s cube.
The 356 M
The 356 M is a stickerless magnetic cube that offers premium features in a mid-range price. It comes with a hand-adjustable Numerical IPG core and a set of GES nuts, making it stable, smooth and bound to impress beginners and experts alike.
The GAN 356 M is the brand’s first factory magnetised modern 3×3 puzzle in this price range. It turns out excellently out of the box with smooth turning and good corner-cutting, and both versions come with additional sets of GES nuts to swap out (standard version has 3 and lite version has one).
The GAN 356 M is designed to combine the best of all worlds when it comes to cube technology. It has a world-first honeycomb design, an anti-scratch surface and a new elasticity system that makes tuning easier and more accurate than ever.
The 354 M
The 354 M is a miniature cube that emulates the performance of the 356 X, but with a softer and springier feel. Its smaller size makes it more manageable, especially for one-handed solves.
Its unique honeycomb surface reduces friction and endures lubrication, while the edge and corner feet are designed to anti-pop and anti-twist. This makes the 354 M an excellent choice for speedcubers who want a lightweight, but powerful cube.
You can customize your 354 M even further with its GES system, which allows you to set the elasticity of the nuts to four different levels: purple (1.8 N), blue (3.4 N), green and yellow. You can also choose to use two types of GES nuts in each colour, each with a different elasticity level.
The GES nuts can be easily changed without opening the whole cube. Just turn the clear GES nut in each colour to set the tensions to the desired number.
The 356 X
The 356 X is one of the most innovative speed cubes from GAN. It features a revolutionary GAN Magnet System that lets you switch into your perfect magnet setting in seconds and hunt for your favourite hand feel.
The new GAN Magnetic System is a set of interchangeable magnet capsules that can change the magnet forces in your cube. These are inserted into the edge piece through a hole, each with different strengths to match the needs of your speed cube.
This makes it easier for you to position pieces more accurately and result in smoother turning for a faster solve. Plus, the capsules can be changed by hand in seconds and will last longer than standard ones.
The GAN 356 X also features a digital Numerical IPG core and GES tensioning system that allows you to adjust the resilience of the puzzle with just your hands. The GES nuts can be altered to three different settings, with 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0 representing the loosest, medium and tightest elasticity.
The 356 RS
The GAN 356 RS is an economy 3×3 cube that combines the latest state of the art engineering with a budget friendly price tag. This puzzle features a smooth, soft GAN feel that is characteristic of their cubes and weighs in at just 72g.
This 3×3 puzzle has some of the most advanced components of any speed cube on the market today. It boasts a total symmetrical structure (TSS) with symmetrical clips, the aforementioned honeycomb touch face and it’s also the first to feature an integrated lubricant holder.
Its top notch performance and design have earned it a spot on the coveted list of the best budget cubes on the market. Its 55deg/ 30deg corner cutting ability is impressive for its size and will ably handle the most challenging of angles. The aforementioned GES & IPG systems are also well worth mentioning. The aforementioned honeycomb touch face is actually the tiniest apex on this list and should be mentioned in every puzzle enthusiast’s toolbox.
