Rishikesh, a small Indian town, is located in Uttarakhand. It is situated in the Himalayas at the River Ganga’s foothills. It is also a popular destination for adventure seekers because it offers great opportunities for rock climbing, rafting, and hiking. Rishikesh’s history dates back to the 8th Century CE, when Shankaracharya, a great Hindu sage, founded it. The town is known for being the home to the Beatles, who visited Rishikesh in 1968 to learn meditation from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
