England Vs USA – Harry Kane willing to risk Football World Cup dream with England
Harry Kane is willing to risk his Football World Cup dream to keep Tottenham Hotspur in contention. Spurs boss Antonio Conte is adamant that striker Kane will put the club above the country in the remaining seven games before flying to Qatar as England captain. The big test lies ahead of us tonight as Kane leads Manchester United and third-placed Tottenham want to hold off their rivals.

“Conte said: I can tell you that Harry wants to play every game. A player who wants to play every game is not afraid of injury or missing out on the Football World Cup. I love seeing this commitment and this behavior from my players. Surely we are talking about an important competition with the Qatar Football World Cup. But at the same time, I can talk about my players. And I believe in my players, I believe in their dedication. I know they are really 100 percent focused on our club and that’s enough for me.”
Kane has scored five goals in his last six games for Tottenham and 51 goals in 75 games for England. He will lead the attack at the World Championships next month and lead the team as skipper. The Football World Cup kicks off in 31 days in the middle of the European domestic season and injury problems are on the rise.
England right-back Reece James was ruled out with a ligament injury in his knee last week. And Kane’s teammate Richarlison scared Brazil with a calf injury at the weekend, though he should be fine. As the tournament approaches, there are understandable theories that players heading to Qatar World Cup can get a glimpse of their international ambitions while playing for their clubs.
Spurs boss Conte has criticized the timing of the Football World Cup, which takes place in November and December, and insists it never be repeated. Conte said it’s too late to complain. Of course, in my opinion, the whole football environment should have complained at the right time, not now.
Now it’s too late and we have to live with this experience. Fingers crossed, there will be no injuries, and then we’ll see what happens. After this experience, we say: We did it once, now let’s continue to do it as before.
What we have done in the past has been perfect for everyone. I was a player in the Qatar World Cup and I played in the European Championship and I don’t want to repeat this situation. After seeing so many problematic situations, there should be no doubt about it. Okay, let there be a Football World Cup, and then stop and come back to the game in the summer.
Qatar’s Glittering Football World Cup Is Ready And Expensive
The bill Qatar is paying for the most expensive Football World Cup in history will rise to the level of fantasy in the months leading up to its November 20 start. Gorgeous new stadiums worth more than $6.5 billion are ready, and a $36 billion self-driving subway system serves five of the eight venues.
Palm-shaped street lights and neon-lit office buildings along the highway from the expanded international airport to downtown Doha will send an instant signal to millions of arriving fans that the first Football World Cup to be held in an Arab country will be a brilliant event.
But as Qatar organizers desperately try to convince the world of the event’s enduring legacy, marred by corruption investigations and criticism of Qatar’s rights and even its use of air-conditioning in the stadium, there will likely be additional costs.
Thousands of workers are working all night to complete some hotels, apartment buildings and roads. Qatar’s natural gas wealth has left the emirate with seemingly endless pockets to pay for the football extravaganza.
But startling estimates have been made of total infrastructure spending over the past decade of up to $300 billion. By contrast, the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil cost an estimated $11.5 billion, while in Russia in 2018 it cost about $14 billion.
Qatar, with a population of just 2.8 million, is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. And the comparisons aren’t fair, says Daniel Reich, a visiting adjunct professor at Georgetown University in Qatar who is leading the Football World Cup research project.
“Most infrastructure spending was already part of Qatar’s 2030 development plan and has just been carried over to the Football World Cup, he said.”
FIFA praised Qatar’s preparations and the eight stadiums designed to highlight Arab traditions and culture. Together we will create the best Football World Cup on and off the pitch, President Gianni Infantino said this week. But rights groups are still calling on FIFA and Qatar to reach into their pockets to compensate South Asian workers who have died or been injured in the construction frenzy since the tournament was held in 2010.
“There are families who went into debt because of the workers who moved to Qatar to build this infrastructure and died. At least we can fix this before the Football World Cup starts, said Rotna Begum of the Human Rights Watch campaign group. Attention will disappear after the FIFA World Cup. It’s hard to celebrate these games when you know these families don’t have anything.”
Qatar said much of the criticism of its legal track record is unfair, pointing to sweeping reforms over the past five years that have helped hundreds of thousands of migrant workers in the state. Qatari newspapers have accused a European media “conspiracy” of criticizing labor and LGBTQ rights. Qatar is one of about 70 countries where homosexuality is criminalized, but it insists that everyone is “welcome”.
“Reiche said: it is rare among (70) when this is not prosecuted by law. Qatar should still consider following Singapore’s lead in decriminalizing same-sex relationships.”
Away from politics, Doha’s population’s expectations are rising. Yasmian Ghanem, a member of the Qatar golf team, sat in a cafe in the tourist area of Souq Waqif and said “fans will have a great time” in the state. Football fans in Qatar, meanwhile, are watching the form of the national team. After so much money, many are dying to see the host country at least in the group stage.
But the Asian champions are the lowest ranked team in their group – 50th in the world – against the Netherlands, Senegal and Ecuador. The opening gala against Ecuador (44th) is considered an early competitive game as the Qataris dream of emulating South Korea’s semi-final feat when they helped host the 2002 tournament.
Christian Gourcuff, former manager of Al-Gharafa club, said that Qatar has invested phenomenal resources in the preparation of the national team. But beyond striker Akram Afif, he believes they lack an international dimension that could cost Qatar their Football World Cup ambitions.
