History
The university was established in 1867. The Maidstone College of Art was founded during that time. The college then changed its name to The Kent Institute of Art and Design. It was founded in 1987 as one of several art colleges.
The school was first founded as a university in 2004. In 2008, the art institute receives university status and changes its name to the University for the Creative Arts (UCA).

Student Life

Location
Three campuses of the University of Creative Arts are located in Kent county, about an hour’s drive southeast of London: in Canterbury, Maidstone, and Rochester. The university also maintains campuses in Epson and Farnham, both of which are in Surrey and are an hour’s drive west of London. International airports are accessible from both places in less than an hour by car.
