Drum Debarker and Basswood
Those who work with hardwoods already know that bass and walnut are a pain no matter what type of bark concealer you use. It is so painful that we have seen the mill stop coming out of these forests! The problem with scaling these species is greatest in spring and summer, when the bark peels. When loggers harvest these trees at that time of year, the bark breaks into large carpets or pieces when they process and compact everything.
Fiber bark, such as walnut and linden, will immediately show flaws in a poorly designed system. The better the design of the system, the better it can deal with irregularities and remove bark more efficiently. The worse the system – the reason some wood saws do not remove these types. But if you want to eliminate and improve the shortcomings of the system, you should consider removing the drum debarker or bark just like any other part of the production process. Workers do not usually do this, although good peeling equipment helps increase yield, value and productivity.
They are interrupted. Removing bad bark causes:
- weak scan
- fiber loss
- Sawing of dirty dirt / sand residue (lower scales removed)
- Wrong judgment about the best way to handle history
- Frequent change of knives
- knife scratch
- excessive manual scheduling
- unplanned stop
Outbreaks appear to be exacerbating the problem with both the rose head and the ring gloss corrector, but flares can severely damage the ring cutter, especially if the logs are loaded incorrectly. The burner flute will also retain more dirt, sand and stones than the rest of the shaft. Thus, a good peeler removes the contaminants in them before they come into contact with the equipment.
Design improvements start with a peel remover designed to cut this hard skin, not cut it. However, a good overall design is not only a peeler, but also waste removal, bounce and glare reduction (if applicable). It considers skinning to be an integral part of production. Only by addressing all these aspects will the system work efficiently on a daily basis – even when processing chicory and linden.
