Difference between Modern & Traditional Education
The dream of today can be a reality for tomorrow. The same goes with the current educational system, especially during the pandemic times. Who would have thought a decades ago that students will be taking their lessons at their home with a laptop in their front? Literally speaking, the whole scenario of present education is heading towards technological innovations and concept-based education rather than restricted to mere story-telling classes. Our traditional education system was based much on training students in such a way that they get some job, especially in government sector whereas the modern education system has provided students with a platform to open their wings and explore the sky of endless opportunities lying before them.
Change is the only constant thing in this world
Things have changed with time and time itself is evidence to this. The former traditional education system used to take place with an objective to make employment accessible to every student. Moreover only limited skills and techniques were been adopted to teach them. Time flew and priorities changed accordingly keeping in mind the growing population and innovative measures to meet their educational requirements. Modern learning moreover focuses on skill development as they know developing innovative minds can only serve the purpose of future aspects and its requirements.
Moral Development
This is a major aspect where today’s modern education seems to be ineffective despite its various programs and methodologies to inculcate moral values among children. Moreover, developing moral values in children is not possible at all without due interference of their parents. The traditional education didn’t had any such problems with it as it was effective and efficient enough to cater moral values with face to face interactive teaching procedures. Also, the overall environment in schools was so maintained that students used to refer their teachers almost similar to a god. The modern education seems to be a misfit in this regard despite their various rigorous efforts towards this aspect. Adhering strictly to moral education UAE, institutions like Ras Al Khaimah Academy which focuses constantly on developing moral values aptly among its students.
Skill Development
Modern education has done commendable work in this regard. The syllabus along with teaching techniques focuses on developing skills in students which they can polish and utilize for their lifetime. UAE National Agenda for Schools has laid much emphasis on skill development in children. The critical thinking through various methodologies has been tried to be developed among students to meet day-to-day challenges in their lives regarding their studies and other important aspects. The focus of schools in rak modern education has enlarged a bit to develop skillful minds who can think, ponder and come up with a solution on their own. Various project works, competitions and extra-curricular activities make them much confident to deal with different challenging situations.
Expert Faculty
In traditional education, there were not so many skilled and trained teachers and expert faculties for higher studies. The ratio gap between the teacher and students was a major concern as students tend to lose their interest more often due to limited resources which were available to them as faculties. Modern education provides the world-class experts for every single subject which students want to learn and study. An expert is an expert irrespective of its age, religion caste or gender, the kind of information and knowledge they provide with advanced tools and technologies are unmatched and can’t be compared to traditional period.
Courses
This is one of the most common disadvantages of traditional education system as it failed to provide different courses related to diversified fields. The complete educational scenario was circled by few courses which students had to opt in any sense and continue with them whether they had their interest in it or not.
The modern education has opened the whole new world of courses which children can access according to their interests and capabilities. Especially with the advent of internet, online learning has also provided an effective platform to learn and grow by selecting a course which they think can suit their skills in the best way.
The advent of online classes and availability of multiple online courses have transformed the whole learning scenario of today’s world.
