Dental Filling and Tooth Cavity Filling
My first time having a dental filling was a rather daunting experience. I had just been told by my dentist that I had developed a cavity and needed to have it filled. Although he tried to reassure me about the procedure, I still felt anxious about it.
As he prepared for the filling, he explained the entire process; he first cleaned out the cavity using special instruments and tooth cleaning solutions before filling it in with a composite material. He then polished off my tooth and checked that the area was clean and free from debris.
Although I was still slightly nervous during the process, I felt reassured when my dentist said everything went well.
After applying anesthesia, he injected a special solution into my mouth where the cavity was located to numb any potential pain or discomfort caused by him drilling on my tooth.

Cavity cleaning involves removing any plaque or tartar build up from in between teeth and around the gum line. This prevents further decay from occurring. Cavity filling is done after a tooth has already become decayed, to prevent further damage from occurring.
During this procedure, the dentist will numbing the area before drilling out any cavities that exist in order to fill them with a special material such as amalgam or composite resin. Afterwards, they’ll finish off by polishing the surface to make it smooth and comfortable to chew on.
