Where is Cancun?
You may have heard of Cancun, but do you the exact location of this exotic tropical paradise? This Caribbean resort is located on the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula in southeastern Mexico in the state of Quintana Roo. The area is very popular with young and old alike, thanks to its gorgeous long sandy white beaches, warm weather, exciting nightlife and wide range of unique attractions that include spectacular Mayan ruins. Back in the 1980s, Cancun was a small, relatively undiscovered destination, but the resort has since become one of the world’s most visited!
Many airlines offer direct flights to this remarkable destination so you should have no problem arranging transportation. Cancun is also located within easy driving distance to many other charming colonial cities and popular tourist attractions. You can take a short boat ride to the island of Cozumel, rent a car to explore the large theme park of Xcaret, arrange a tour of the ancient ruins of Chitzen Itza or hop on an air-conditioned bus to visit neighboring Belize.
Weather & Climate
Many national and international visitors return to Cancun year after year because of the favorable weather. The resort boasts one of the world’s sunniest climates with an average annual temperature of 25.5 degrees Celsius or 78 degrees Fahrenheit. You can spend your evenings soaking in the hot sun and then cool off in the warm, crystal clear Caribbean waters.
Strong winds and occasional rain may occur from September to November, but you are almost guaranteed to see a lot of sun during your stay! The inland areas of the Yucatan are approximately 10-15 degrees warmer than the coastal areas, and they can heat up to 110 degrees. You may want to pack a light jacket or sweater if you plan to visit Cancun any time between November and January. You may also experience a few afternoon showers if you visit during the summer months starting in June. But don’t worry, they don’t usually last long and can provide a welcome break from the hot tropical sun.
How to get around Cancun
The city of Cancun has both private and public transportation. Whether you are in the hotel zone or in downtown Cancun.
Public transportation services are ideal for you, but if you want to go from Cancun airport to downtown, to the hotel zone or to other nearby destinations such as Playa del Carmen, the best option is the private transfer service.
And although the city has several companies for transfer services, the best option is Tequila Transfers.
Tequila Transfers is a young agency that offers Transfers to Puerto Juarez, Transfers to Playa del Carmen, Transfers to Tulum and other destinations in the Riviera Maya at very low prices.
But it is necessary to mention that low prices are not synonymous of bad quality, since Tequila Transfers offers the best quality in the service: Comfortable units, with capacity for up to 9 people, air conditioning, can be customized with baby seats and of course the toast with tequila very Mexican style.
