use metal or plastic BB pellets to shoot projectiles at high velocity. Often used as a training aid or for target practice, they can also be useful for home pest control and even hunting small game. They are safer than real firearms and typically have similar safety features but if mishandled can still cause severe or life-threatening injuries.
The Daisy Model 25 is a classic, pump-driven BB gun that uses levers to cock the spring and load BBs. Its simple, utilitarian design is very reliable and one of the best-built BB guns we tested. It can hold 50 BBs and is very accurate, even with the folded sheet-metal front sight and primitive adjustable rear peep. Its only drawback is that BBs have to be loaded 1 at a time, unlike other models in our tests which feature a rapid loading port.
While it’s not the most exciting BB gun, this is a great choice for the money and can be used by kids of all ages to learn how to shoot a pistol or rifle. The rotary magazine holds 19 shots of BBs or pellets and the rifled steel barrel is 4.25-inches long. It comes with a 6-shot BB clip and a 10-shot pellet clip and operates using a single cartridge of CO2.
The Umarex M3 Grease Gun is a heavy, well-made BB gun that feels like it was made from solid steel. It has a flip-up dust cover, thumb-cocking recess in the bolt, sling mounts for WW2-issue web slings and simple, fixed sights. While it may not be as accurate as some of the other BB guns in our test, its attention to detail is superb and it’s a fun replica of an historic submachine gun.
