Granite Manufacturing in India: The Process
Once these amazing granite rocks which are formed under the crust of the earth are discovered, they are carefully removed by using high tech machinery and the latest technology.
And then they are given a beautiful shape using the drilling machines. Later these rocks are carried to the factories where they are cut into slabs and polished using machines
Here’s a journey about how the Granite industry transforms these shapeless dull rocks into beautiful marvellous shiny granite slabs.
- Stone Mining and Lifting: To begin with, the stone blocks brought from the quarry are lifted by using the Gigantic Stone lifting machines, placed on the trolley and sent to be trimmed.
- Stone Trimming: They are trimmed flawlessly using the Whitestone Block Dressing Machine. This makes the surfaces of this granite proportionate. This process needs 2-4 hours depending upon the size of the rock.
- Slabs Cutting: After trimming the stone blocks, they are put through a three feet stone block cutter machine to be carefully cut into several slabs of the same thickness. It takes around 3-4 hours for the stone blocks to be cut into slabs.
- Chipping: Now these slabs are brought to the chipping section. Here, they are separated individually from the stone block by chipping ( Here, chipping is nothing but a process where slabs are removed by chopping, cutting, or breaking)
- Smoothening the Slabs: Slabs are then moved to the edge cutting machines using the lifting machines. It’s the most beautiful part of granite manufacturing as you tend to watch this edge cutting machine moving smoothly on these slabs to cut them delicately.
- Slab Polishing: And now comes nirvana! These slabs are delivered for polishing. An export quality finish is achieved using the enormously big as well as meticulous automatic line machines.
