‘AG Gold’ coach Ryu Joong-il will also lead APBC’s national team, roster announced today

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced on Nov. 18 that it has named Ryu Jung-il as the head coach of the national team for the APBC 2023, which will be held at the Tokyo Dome in Japan from Nov. 16 to 19.
Ryu led a team comprised mostly of prospects in their fourth year or younger to gold at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games this month.

With the success of the national team’s generational transition, Liu will continue to lead the team through the APBC.

The 26-man roster for the APBC will be announced at an official press conference on April 24 in Tokyo, Japan. Liu will be joined by the head coaches of all four countries participating in the tournament – Japan, Taiwan, and Australia.
The team will convene on the 5th of next month and will train domestically before departing for Japan on November 14th.
