AAFT Observed Martyrs Day on 23rd March
On 23rd March, the Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT) observed Martyrs’ Day, also known as Shaheed Diwas, in honor of the three Indian freedom fighters- Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar, and Shivaram Rajguru, who were executed in 1931 for their contributions to India’s freedom struggle.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University, addressed the students of AAFT and highlighted the significance of this day. He emphasized that the sacrifice of these young Indians should inspire us to love our motherland and work towards its development.
Dr. Rajesh Badal, a renowned writer and poet who has written books on Bhagat Singh, shared some untold stories from his research on Bhagat Singh. He also recited some of Bhagat Singh’s writings, which left the audience amazed at the depth of his writing.
Satya Dev and Sushil Bharti, members of the Bhagat Singh Forum of AAFT, also spoke on the occasion, highlighting the relevance of the ideas and principles of Bhagat Singh in today’s world.
The event served as a reminder of the sacrifice made by the freedom fighters and their commitment to the cause of India’s independence. It also provided an opportunity for the younger generation to learn from their struggle and work towards building a better future for India. Later Dr. Marwah presented guests with membership of Bhagat Singh Forum. The event was supported by World Peace Development and Research Foundation.
