A Story About the Writing Life by Emmanuel Olowe
Emmanuel Olowe is one of the best known African American Story Writers. After serving prison time for robbery, Olowe began a life of crime and was convicted of murder and sentenced to death row. He is listed 6th on the Forbes Magazine’s list of the world’s most famous dead people. As his life sentence was nearing completion, a newly born daughter was being raised by his wife in their hometown of Homewood.
Olowe’s request to be put to rest was finally granted and he was released from his jail cell in 2021. Nowadays he writes stories as a means of escape and penning captivating tales of murder, drugs, corruption, love and honor, courage and redemption. A most promising writer who also writes under the pen name of Emmanuel Olowe is proving to be a new and rising talent in the field of African American Writing. His book called “The Road of Life” will be his first novel and a series of books that will depict his life story.
The book will consist of ten volumes which have been arranged in three parts. The first volume of the series titled “The Road of Life” will concentrate on his early years in prison followed by his release and return to Homewood. The second part of his story will be about his association with the drug trade in Chicago. The last part of his story will tell how he turned his life around and established a successful story collection with his third book called “The Way of Life.” Each volume of the series thus far has been successful in its own way and could well be the next bestseller.
Olowe’s first story “The Road of Life” won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize in 1990. It centered on his imprisonment for fifteen years for the murder of an eight-year-old boy named Emmett. The story was turned into a movie called “Emmet” and starred Leonardo DiCaprio. This was also the beginning of many successful careers for Olowe as he wrote, produced and directed many movies and television shows.
He began writing books while in prison and this led to him being given the National Book Award for the best non-fiction book. After serving time for his crime, he was paroled and now works hard to support his wife and two children. He is a strong believer in family, helping them with their careers and also writing a regular column for them in the South Chicago Daily News. Olowe has recently released a children’s book entitled “The Little Match Girl.” It is based on the life of his daughter, Pamela.
The author of this famous book has also written screenplays and produced a documentary. These endeavors to show his versatility as a writer and have enabled him to create successful television programs such as the BBC’s soap opera, Eastenders and a book adaptation of his famous novel “Theicks.” He also serves as a contributing writer for numerous publications and has even written a cookbook entitled “The Olwee Kitchen Guide: Recipes From Kenya” that can be purchased via the Olwee Web site. This cookbook has been reviewed by various experts and has received great reviews.
