A new life after Hajj
Hajj is a very spiritual and life-altering journey for a believer. Millions of Muslim pilgrims arrive for it annually through their hajj packages 2022 UK. However, as the hajj gets over and pilgrims return to their homes, those feelings can quickly fade. As the contrast between the lands of Hajj and the ‘normal’ home environment is as striking as a day against the night; one gets involved in the materialistic desires again.
So, here’s how you can start a new life after hajj and maintain spirituality.
Consistency in doing good deeds.
Pilgrims, returning to their homes after Hajj pilgrimage, should remain realistic in their worship i.e., daily Salah and other spiritual matters. Even though it might be difficult to maintain the same levels of worship that they had once attained on the Hajj journey but if one keeps consistency in doing a few small and manageable good deeds, it’s enough.
Remember that these good deeds should only be performed with the intentions of pleasing Allah Almighty only.
In addition, guarding the great deed of steadfastness on Islam, one should ask Allah Almighty ceaselessly to help adhere him/her firmly to His religion and give guidance.
Repent sincerely.
After the day of Arafah, when one’s soul is cleansed from all of the sins, your new clean soul recognizes the new sins and mistakes much more easily. However, that state of purity won’t stay forever because it is in human nature to sin and even Allah doesn’t expect you to remain that way.
All of humankind sins, but the best of those who sin are the ones who repent on their wrongdoings sincerely and ask for forgiveness from Allah Almighty. Therefore, make a habit of reciting ‘Istighfar’ on a daily basis, and as many times as you possibly can.
Avoid every sort of filth.
After the sheitan was humiliated on the day of Arafah (rami ritual) he’s now even more determined to corrupt your heart. So, whenever you feel temptations coming to you remember that stoning of the devil as you did during hajj and try to chase him away.
Try to protect your senses from all sorts of spiritual, mental, and physical filth by staying away from sights and sounds that have a chance of corrupting your heart and mind.
Recite Holy Quran, Do Dhikr, and indulge in something meaningful whenever you feel any sort of wrong temptations coming to you.
It’s a matter of extreme sadness for pilgrims to leave Makah after they’ve performed the holy rituals of hajj and return to their homes. However, use gratitude to go for the hajj pilgrimage frequently. In this regard, encourage others (upon whom Hajj is compulsory) to start making preparations for their Hajj pilgrimage as soon as possible.
