A Complete Guide to Posting on Google My Business
Google My Business is back with yet another upgrade and we cannot say much about its performance. Let’s check out the facts here. The new Google My Business Insights shows you the number of calls and messages within a six-month time frame. Also, it organizes the data by month and the search term used by searchers to find your Google account. Google my business posts are to go a step beyond your basic business information to escalate your business.
Why the Upgrade?
Google has been hinting for some time about replacing their metrics or adding to its ‘My Business Insights’. In recent times, a notice was displayed on My Business dashboard indicating that user’s metrics are to move to a newer look report. More metrics are to be added in upcoming months that search queries will be visible in the upgrade. John Muller, of Google, had confirmed that you do not need to have a Google My Business verified listing to show up in Google web search; instead, you need a Google My Business listing to show up in Google Maps or to show a panel in search, but not to rank in web search.
What’s different this time?
The current My Business Insights displays website visits and direction requests while this new update does not. Metrics like driving directions, website clicks or if you were found by searchers on Google search versus Google Maps are not included. It also does not show the photo views, the quality of photos like the current version does.
Importance of Google My Business Posts
Google My Business Posts are the first experience users have with a company when starting their search, which is why these listings are so much important for businesses in all industries. It shows the users how to find the businesses, what the business looks like, its location, hours, etc. along with businesses to engage with the community and public regarding the brand making it transparent and trustworthy for the visitors.
Helps Engage More Audience
When the users search for a certain business on Google My Business, they are able to see other events, their promotions, and notices in Google search and map results, this can be helpful for customers to get a look at what they can expect while visiting for upcoming events and sales. It also shows a feature called Preview History; it shows the recent calls made to your business through Google search and Google maps. But it’s missing some of the key data points, it should have been completed and more updated since their current version is broadly used worldwide.
