Over View Of Nickel 200 Fasteners
Nickel 200 Fasteners bolts are made of pure-weight nickel. It is very resistant to reducing chemicals and caustic alkalies since it is 99.6% pure nickel. Annealed nickel has a low hardness and is popular among machinists due to its weldability.
UNS N02200 fasteners are another name for Nickel 200 Fasteners bolts created from this alloy. This alloy’s properties make it attractive in the food sector (handling), petrochem (caustic), and aerospace applications.
Nickel 200 and 201 are both corrosion-resistant in reducing and neutral media as well as oxidizing atmospheres if the oxidizing media allows the production of a passive oxide coating. This oxide coating is responsible for the material’s high resilience to caustic conditions. Corrosion rates are quite low in both marine and rural environments.
Nickel 200/201 is extremely resistant to corrosion by distilled and natural waters.
Furthermore, it provides great service in flowing seawater, even at high velocity; but, in stagnant or very low-velocity seawater, significant local attack under fouling organisms or other deposits may develop.
Chemical Resistance
• Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH): Excellent resistance to caustic soda at all concentrations.
• Alkalis: Excellent resistance, with the exception of ammonium hydroxide.
• Sulfuric acid: Resistance to nonaerated sulfuric acid solutions at room temperature is moderate.
• Hydrochloric: Resistant only in certain situations.
• Hydrofluoric: High-temperature resistance to anhydrous hydrofluoric acid. The resistance of Nickel 200 to aqueous HF solutions is limited.
• Critical: Nickel 200 fasteners are extremely corrosive to oxidizing acid chlorides such as ferric, cupric, and mercuric.
Corrosion
Nickel 200 screws are resistant to corrosive conditions, particularly those containing reducing agents. They provide excellent protection for caustic alkaline solutions. Nickel 200 fasteners, on the other hand, will be extensively corroded in oxidizing salt solutions.
Applications
• Nickel 200 screws are commonly used in chemical and electronic processes, particularly in applications using caustic soda.
• Nickel 200 screws’ high electrical and thermal conductivity, as well as magnetostrictive qualities, make them valuable in electrics and acoustic devices.
• Nickel 200 bolts are utilized in the manufacturing of salt as well as applications involving sodium hydroxide and fluorine.
