The Colosseum: The Flavian Amphitheatre
The Colosseum is considered the most intriguing architecture in Rome built in the center of the city of Rome, Italy. It is an oval amphitheater that is regarded as the symbol of Rome that contains 2000 years of history, and if you dig deeper, you might as well discover some untouched facts. During its initial years, the arena hosted 50,000 people, allowing them to relish animals’ exhibition, a recreation of battles and gladiators, and execution of prisoners. The grand theater was active for 500 years, and last was utilized in the 6th century. The architecture remained strong and upright even when it had to suffer the ruthless bombing of World War II, loot from the foreigners, and devastating earthquakes. It was built during the renaissance period, under Pope Nicholas V. The bewitching fountain holds many dream coins underneath for the mere reason people take it as a fountain of dreams. The myth of the Trevi fountain originated from the movie, ‘Three Coins in the fountain.’ According to the movie, if you throw a coin from your right hand over your left shoulder, you will fulfill your wishes.

The Palatine Hill: The Place where it all started
The legend goes that a She-Wolf took care of two boys, Romulus and Remus, inhabited somewhere on the Palatine Hill. As the two boys grew up, they desired to form a city near the banks of the river; however, they couldn’t come under a mutual agreement, and so Romelus killed Remus and built Rome. Today, Palatine hill is considered as the birthplace of Rome. During the Republican period, the Palatine Hill was the home for many upper-class Rome citizens who later on situated sumptuous palaces on the hill. The palaces’ walls speak pertaining to its history, ruthful rulers, and the artistry of that time, which is well-preserved for the tourists who visit the castles every year.
