In the south of Chile, inside the Malalcahuello National Park and surrounded by a forest of millenary araucaria trees, is the charming Corralco Ski Resort. At the base of Lonquimay Volcano, the hotel is the newest and most exclusive option for skiing in the southern hemisphere. The region has an enormous cultural and natural heritage, where Aboriginal communities still live and foxes can be seen running between the trees.
The mountain conveys peace and silence, giving every skier and snowboarder the feeling of being the first down the slopes, no matter the time of day. Snow is considered the best in the southern hemisphere and is abundant throughout the season.
With an average of 9.6 meters of snow per year, Corralco has the longest season in the country, from June to October. For those who want to live experiences other than skiing, there is a range of activities such as hiking, horseback riding, snowshoeing, randonee and snowmobiling. The Corralco Ski School offers ski and snowboard lessons for all levels of practitioners and, for the little ones, the Mini-School. If the traveler is in the snow for the first time or wants to learn advanced techniques of these sports, the school will always be able to serve everyone.
After a long day of fun on the mountain, the hotel welcomes guests with excellence, starting with the cuisine inspired by the untouched nature of the Malalcahuello National Reserve, where contemporary Chilean cuisine is served with local ingredients and, of course, always accompanied by a good Chilean wine.
For moments of relaxation and well-being, the Spa is an oasis overlooking the Lonquimay Volcano, featuring an equipped gym, heated pool, sauna and jacuzzi, among other treatments. The 54 apartments are spacious and fully equipped, 14 of which are specially designed for families. The resort has a ski area of more than 500ha for alpine skiing and snowboarding, it has 29 slopes of different difficulty levels served by a total of 6 lifts.
