Barley Head Brewery
If you’re looking for a unique place to have a beer and eat in Mystic, Connecticut, the Barley Head Brewery should be at the top of your list. This local brewery sources local ingredients and produces high-quality craft beers. The restaurant’s menu rotates each week and features 4 to 6 different beers. In addition to their award-winning brews, the restaurant offers a variety of local food options and a cozy indoor seating area, as well as lively outdoor seating.
The brewery is very small, with only about 30 people seated at a time. The owner, who is a well-meaning gentleman, cobbled together a few bucks and started brewing his own beer. He worked as a professional brewer for a few years before deciding to open his own brewery in Mystic. During my visit, he served up some delicious samples of IPA, lager, and he even had an executive order pretzel for a mere $1.
