Ingredients
Grilled Pork Chops
- 4 bone-in pork chops, preferably 1.5-inch thick
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Honey Garlic Glaze
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 4 tablespoons chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
Helpful Tools
- 1 MEATER Plus Bluetooth Thermometer, optional
- 1 ThermoPro Instant Read Thermometer, optional
Steps
1. Preheat the grill
Preheat a grill on high heat to 475 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Bring the pork chops to room temperature
Remove the pork chops from the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature for 30 minutes.
3. Season the pork chops
Drizzle the olive oil over the pork chops and rub to apply an even coat. Season each with salt and black pepper.
4. Sear the grilled pork chops
Lay the pork chops on the grill, close the lid and sear for 2 minutes. Turn each pork chop onto the other side and sear for an additional 2 minutes.
5. Continue grilling the pork chops
Transfer the pork chops to the warming rack, reduce the heat of the grill to medium (350 degrees Fahrenheit), and close the lid. If you don’t have a warming rack, you can turn off the heat on one side of the grill and place the pork chops there for an indirect cooking method.
6. Rest the grilled pork chops
When the grilled pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit, remove them from the grill and allow to rest for 20 minutes.
7. Make the honey garlic glaze
While the grilled pork chops are resting, place a saucepan over medium heat and add the butter. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the chicken broth, honey, and apple cider vinegar, bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes or until thickened.
8. Serve the grilled pork chops
Brush the honey garlic glaze onto each pork chop and serve. Enjoy!
Notes
Can I use a smoker to make these grilled pork chops?
Yes, instead of grilling the pork chops over charcoal or propane, you can definitely use a smoker or pellet grill. I recommend using the reverse-sear method which will allow the grilled pork chops to absorb more smoke before searing. You can follow the steps in my Traeger Pork Chop recipe.
