Why Coconut Oil Is a Super Food
Most eastern religions have the concept of a “world tree”. This is also a very popular concept in Hinduism called Kalpavriksha or “I want to make a tree”.
Coconut trees are often called Kalpavriksha. Most families on the south coast of India add coconut to their food. They can’t imagine food without coconut.
However, there are also concerns about cooking with coconut oil. The disadvantage is the high concentration of saturated fats. Fortunately, things are changing. Today, with the increase in research around the world, there is a growing interest in coconut oil.
Unlike other cooking oils (palm oil, sunflower oil), coconut oil is very unique because its benefits are not limited to cooking. Let’s see what these benefits are.
Rich in medium chain triglycerides (ICT).
The bad news is that it is rich in saturated fats, but this is not true at all. The main saturated fats in coconut are capric acid, palmitic acid, myristic acid, and lauric acid. These saturated fatty acids fall into the category of medium-chain triglycerides or MCTs. These long-chain triglycerides are not metabolized any faster and are much healthier.
smoking is high
His smoking was high (177 degrees). Most seeds, nuts, and vegetable oils have a low smoke point. The smoke point is the heating point where the oil begins to burn. Foods cooked with low-fat and low-fat foods usually have a burning taste. Another benefit of smoking is that the fatty acids in fats oxidize, releasing free radicals that are dangerous to your health.
It has antibacterial properties
Two important components provide antibacterial properties — capillary acid and lauric acid. After ingestion, hydrochloric acid becomes monoclinic, which is effective against many viruses, bacteria, and protozoa. Also, balance the digestive system and check the yeast count. With yeast growing in popularity, it can lead to persistent swelling, tearing, licking, diarrhea and constipation.
This is a great hair oil
Do you suffer from split ends, scalp scratches, piercings, or baldness? Try it on your hair or scalp. Rich in minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants. A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Sciences in 2005 also found that hair follicles are easier to penetrate than mineral oil, the main ingredient in hair conditioners. Most people don’t realize that crustaceans are caused by bacteria and fungi. The antibacterial properties of coconut oil kill these microbes and control breakouts.
Digestion
Among them, medium-chain triglycerides, especially lauric acid, are antibacterial agents of the gastrointestinal tract. When they retain the beneficial bacteria, they kill the bad bacteria such as Helicobacter pylori. Therefore, it restores the balance of the digestive system and promotes intestinal health. It is also effective in treating digestive problems such as colitis, gastritis, stomach syndrome, and gastritis. Most people offer coconut oil to cleanse the intestines.
Reduces intestinal inflammation
If you suffer from intestinal problems such as irritable bowel syndrome or a chronic disease, taking coconut oil can help. The medium-chain triglycerides in coconut oil are absorbed more quickly by the intestines than the long-chain triglycerides found in other cooking oils. Long-chain fatty acids can cause intestinal inflammation as a substrate for several hormones called eicosanoids. To some extent, the anti-inflammatory properties of coconut oil also play a role in reducing intestinal inflammation.
This is great for the skin
It can be used not only as a hair tonic and cooking oil but also as a massage and balm for the skin. Coconut oil is rich in Vitamin E (0.1 mg per 100 grams of coconut oil) which is very important for healthy skin. You can also use it to remove makeup. Coconut oil penetrates deeper than cosmetics for the skin due to its average molecular weight.
This helps you burn oil
Coconut oil contains fewer calories than other cooking oils. This is because medium-chain triglycerides are smaller than long-chain triglycerides, which are the main components of other fatty acids. Due to their small size, MCTs are quickly absorbed and used as an energy source rather than being stored as body fat. ICT is also useful for burning oil reserves. According to one study, eating 15–30 grams of ICT increases energy intake by 5% in 24 hours.
reduce appetite
In this study, a group of women was given MCT drinks while the other groups were given LCT drinks. After 30 minutes, they can drink and eat as much as they want.
