5 Ways to Showcase Your Children’s Achievements
As a parent, you’re constantly aware of what your kids are up to. But how much can you really tell from just one parent? What revelations do you garner when you spend more than five hours a week parenting? Luckily, there are plenty of ways to showcase your child’s accomplishments in multiple ways. From sporting events to school projects, parents everywhere can treasure the small victories they achieve through hard work and dedication. Here are five ways to showcase your child’s achievements.
1. Display Your Child’s Work
If you’re not showing your child how much you love them, how happy they are, and how proud you are, you’re not showing them anything! This is the first and most important way to show your child that you love them. If you don’t let them know how much you love them, they won’t know how much you care. Likewise, if you don’t let them know how much they can do, they won’t know how much they want to do. When they want to do something, show them how much you want them to do it, and if they’re interested, give them the necessary guidance to make their dream come true. This means starting small. Start by taking a picture of your child and posting it on social media. If you send it to 200 friends, you have a message sent to over a million people! If you let your child message only a few friends at a time, you don’t give them the opportunity to reach out to others. You only show them what you want them to see. One way you can display your child’s work is by framing it. If you decide to go this route, make sure to do the research on the frame matting type, color, and quality. Make sure the matting is correct because it plays an important role in preserving the work you are hanging up.
2. Give Them Physical Rewards
Physical rewards are a wonderful way to show your child that they’re capable. When your child is old enough to drive, take them to the park and show them how to drive. When they are old enough to go to the doctor’s office and get their prints taken, show them how to fill out an application. When they are old enough to get on a bike and explore the city’s bike paths, take them on a tour of the city’s bike paths.
3. Let Them Lead
This is the most important way to show your child that you love them. If you don’t let them lead, they won’t follow. This is the reason why you should have a “me time” at every opportunity. This is the time you should be spending with your child to help them feel heard and challenged. Here, you can talk about interesting or fun things in their culture. Here, you can also talk about impossible things in your culture. This is your chance to show them that you’re not afraid to ask them questions, know what they’re capable of, and don’t care if they don’t understand because they’re bright as hell. If you don’t show your child that you love them, they’re just going to think you don’t love them. This is their chance to show you that they care.
4. Show Them What They’re Capable
Your child’s natural ability to learn and think outside the box is what sets him or her apart from other kids. When your child is able to think of new and creative solutions to problems, you should push them to keep going. This will give them the courage to talk about what they have accomplished, be proud of themself, and show others that they are willing to work hard and achieve their goals.
5. Celebrate Their Achievements on a Regular Basis
This is a sure-fire way to show your child that you love them. Every time they succeed at something, just sit and celebrate with them. Take a picture of them with their newfound accomplishments, and share it on social media. If you don’t share the photos enough, you don’t get the opportunity to show your child what you’ve gained. Celebrate on a regular basis, starting with the small things. If you celebrate in your car, celebrate on the way to school. If you celebrate at a local restaurant, celebrate at the restaurant. If you celebrate at a sporting event, celebrate on their final score.
The important thing to remember here is that each one of these ways to show your child’s achievements is just as important for you as it is for them. Remember to take a deep breath and remind yourself that they’ve just turned ten years old, not 30. It’s the little things that make the difference.
