PLI’s 1,000 Young Leaders Program Aims to Create Everyday Christian Leaders
The church needs new leaders, especially among the younger generations. One challenge we face is growing Christian leaders among Millennials, who are less religious than their parents and grandparents. However, they are over 25% of Americans. Any strategy for fostering Christian leadership whether in a formal role or not has to consider Millennials and Gen Z Christians.
The Challenge of Training Young Christian Leaders
There are over 75 million Millennials in the United States. And they aren’t as involved in church activities as their parents or grandparents were. Gen Z (Americans born between 1995 2010) represents another huge pool of talent. The oldest of the Gen Z kids have entered the workforce, enrolled in college, or started graduate degree programs. These two groups represent a fertile ground for finding and growing Christian leaders.
The future of the church depends on mobilizing more of these younger Christians to take on leadership roles either professionally as part of the ministry or outside a formal role in their church. This is why 1000 Young Leaders exists, to attract, motivate, and train those new leaders.
The 1000 Young Leaders Program
This Christian leadership training is for aspiring Christian “everyday leaders” between 21 and 36. This is a potentially great fit for young Christians with any occupation or background – barista, social media manager, truck driver, apprentice electrician, assistant store manager, and so on.
The program is for Millennials and Gen Z who are ready for some leadership training but are not professional church workers. The world needs young Christian leaders from both generations. For even better results, join with a spouse or partner.
How does 1000 Young Leaders work? This program includes 10 months of online training, an optional Annual Gathering, weekly live Zoom meetings, and of course participants will have time to use what they’ve learned.
Lifetime access to Young Leaders platform and community. Long term goal is to train a global community of 30,000 leaders who can create multiple, diverse Evangelical communities. The program will have various start dates so register today for a chance to join the next available cohort. If you want to get the most out of the program, join with a friend, spouse, or neighbor.
