1. Legal Aptitude – 50 Marks
For the Legal Aptitude section of CLAT 2020, note that you will not be tested on any prior knowledge of law or legal concepts. If a technical or legal term appears in the question, that term will be explained in the question itself. The questions will be designed to test your ‘Legal Aptitude’.
If you are good at logical reasoning, you will do well here. Try to get your hands on previous years’ question papers. Questions from this section come up again and again with little or no change.
2. English – 40 Marks
It will test comprehensible passages and aptitude in grammar. In the Comprehension section, you will be asked about your understanding of the passage and its central theme, the meaning of the words used in the passage. The grammar section will have questions on the correction of incorrect sentences, filling in the blanks with suitable words.
If you had started preparing for CLAT after the board exam, you are unlikely to have much time for vocabulary. Note down the problems you face in the English section while giving CLAT online mock tests. Identify your gray areas and improve them over the past three weeks. 3. GK – 50 Marks
The GK section of CLAT 2020 will test your knowledge of current affairs. It is one of the high-scoring sections of CLAT. Be prepared for this section. 4. Mathematical Ability – 20 Marks
This section will test candidates on “Elementary” Mathematics only. It is advisable to understand the fundamentals of various subjects of standard X level. It is important to know that Mathematics is just 10% of the entire paper, so some questions can be skipped.
5. Reasoning Ability- 40 Marks
The Logical Reasoning section of CLAT 2020 will assess your ability to identify patterns, logical links and improve illogical reasoning. The questions asked will be from a wide range of logical reasoning questions such as imputations, logical sequences, analogies. There are two types of questions in this section – both logical, verbal/critical, and analytical. Analytical questions require a tremendous amount of practice before you are comfortable. It is not difficult to solve logical questions if you have a basic logical understanding. With a little practice, it can be greatly improved.
