Church Leadership
Leadership in all domains takes certain skills in order to be effective, and those skills can be mastered with some expert instruction. PLI offers Christian leadership training that provides instruction with a focus on discipleship and training. Given the range of challenges that being a Christian leader brings, specialized training can be valuable.
Key Christian Leadership Challenges
A variety of writers have expressed the challenges of Christian leadership in different ways. In short, though, most pastors must face some of the same issues, sooner or later. Forming a vision and mission, then executing that mission are closely linked issues that all church leaders face sometimes.
Conflicts are inevitable in any group. Communication might be the root of the conflict, or it might be an honest disagreement about some part of that mission or a part of that strategy you just began to implement.
Communication may, perhaps, be the single largest challenge. If you have a mission and a vision, you still need to share it and get people excited. You need to make good choices not only about the mission but about how to carry it out. Many of the leadership tools of the business world still apply.
Christian Leadership Opportunities
Some training programs are probably in-person only, but a hybrid leadership program is a great option, one that builds a church leadership training community where students can share and solve problems together. This Leadership Essentials Learning Community is a two-year program built around five “immersion experiences” for couples, pastors or church leaders and their spouses. If growing a stronger, long-term partnership is part of your strategic plan, this is the program to consider.
PLI invites you to learn more about our Christian Leadership Essentials Learning Community and prayerfully consider signing up if you can.
