Why do we need Water Treatment Plant?

 Being a resident of Chennai, you might know the answer already. Yes. Less rainfall and water scarcity have compromised the quality of our groundwater. Often the water in Chennai is discoloured, foul-smelling and has a metallic taste. This has been the case for decades. Well, not anymore.  2. Water Softening Plant

 This type of water treatment engages a process called ion exchange to replace the unwanted ions with sodium ions. This water treatment plant in Chennai is used to convert hard water into potable water.

 3. Demineralization Plant (DM)

 This is also an ion exchange process that removes the inorganic compounds from water. Demineralized water is used in the process of sanitizing scientific instruments and equipment.

 4. Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)

 Sewage is nothing but the wastewater that contains domestic waste. Even this wastewater can be converted to usable water by Sewage treatment plants or STPs.

 5. Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP)

 Effluent is the wastewater coming out of industries and factories. It contains harsh chemicals and is very toxic if exposed to public usage. According to the guidelines published by the Sewage and Effluent Discharge Manual of the Indian Government, every industry has to treat the effluent before it is discharged in the water bodies that are accessible to the public. So, Effluent treatment plants are becoming popular water treatment plant in Chennai.
