In The life of A Screen Writer-Webinar at AAFT University
Raipur: “If you are in any discipline of communication art, then you must know how to write. Television and cinema have a huge potential for those who can write well, express well. The best way to learn is to take a screenwriting course,” Dr. Sandeep Marwah Chancellor of AAFT University of Media and Arts introduced the subject and Screen Writers Association to the media students in a webinar organised by AAFT University of Media and Arts to know more about writing.
“A screenwriter writes content for visual mediums. They write screenplays for feature films, short films, television, commercials, and video games. They create the dialogue, the characters and the storyline of a script,” explained renowned writer Robin Bhatt also President of SWA. He talked about the history of Screen Writers Association, one of the most prestigious organizations of Cinema in India.
Answering to the question put up by the students Danish Javed said that this can be a very lucrative career because even if a writer is a ninth or tenth person to make revisions, they are still paid. Up and coming screenwriters will also ghost write projects to increase their chances of the script being picked up by a production studio.
Preeti Mamgain Vice President SWA, Satyam Tripathy Joint Secretary SWA, Manisha Korde Joint Secretary SWA also shared their vast experience in writing and answered all the questions coming from media students. The program was conducted by Shikha Verma Director AAFT University. Ashok Tyagi Secretary General ICMEI-International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry proposed vote of thanks.
