Spider Gwen Costume – How Did She Come Up With Her Look?

Gwen Stacy has quickly become a fan-favorite in this multiverse, from her role as Miles Morales’ love interest in the Spider-Man movies to her more recent appearances as Ghost-Spider and even her own comic book series. And her iconic outfit is one of the things that makes her instantly recognizable to fans. But how did she come up with her look? One of her creators, writer Jason Latour, shared a Twitter thread explaining how he approached designing the costume for this alternate universe version of Spider-Man.

Gwen’s look is based on her uniform from Brooklyn Visions Academy, the school where she works and meets Miles. Latour explains that he wanted to create a costume that would be distinct from other Marvel uniforms but still feel familiar enough to appeal to fans. He wanted to make sure that anyone could imagine themselves in the character and that it was something that Robbi Rodriguez, who drew the original costume for Marvel’s 2014 Spider-Verse crossover and 2015 Spider-Gwen series, would be proud to draw over and over again.

This costume is simple to put together and is perfect for a night out this Halloween.
