CBD against essential tremor & its antioxidant properties
We have already talked about the healing properties of nano CBD in the treatment of multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and addictions.
Hemp has many therapeutic properties, and its side effects are minimal to none.
What is essential tremor?
Essential tremors usually occur in the hands, manifesting in upward and downward movements. However, they can also affect the arms, head, face, and larynx (voice box), causing voice tremor.
People with essential tremors may go undiagnosed for a long time because at first the symptoms are rather mild and can be mistaken for ordinary tremors.
Ordinary tremors affect most people and are considered normal, especially after consuming caffeine and cigarettes.
They can be minor or serious. Minor tremors may not affect your daily life, but some severe cases can seriously interfere with a person’s daily activities.
The most common symptoms of essential tremors are:
- Noticeable tremors in the hands or arms when writing, holding objects or using the hands in general
- Involuntary movements of the head and neck, such as moving up and down or side to side
- Eyelids that twitch
- Tongue or voice mail tremors that make your voice shake
- Abnormal walking or loss of balance are common for trunk, leg and foot tremors
Essential tremors usually affect people over 40. Nonetheless, genetics also play a crucial role, as essential tremor can also be inherited. If the essential tremor exists in the family, it is called “familial tremor”.
Parents who have developed this condition have a 50% chance of passing it on to their children.
Conventional treatment
There is no known cure for essential tremors, but doctors offer several treatments to reduce them.
These include anti-seizure drugs, brain surgery known as deep brain stimulation (DBS), and ultrasound MRI scans aimed at destroying tissue in the thalamus.
All of these treatments are proven, but they are quite invasive and expensive.
CBD – an alternative treatment
CBD oil for essential tremor can provide an alternative and less invasive treatment. Several scientific studies have already been carried out on the ability of cannabinoids to relax muscles and calm convulsive behaviour.
Perhaps the most potent property of CBD is its direct connection to the endocannabinoid system (ECS).
The ECS and its endocannabinoid receptors are the main regulators of our bodily functions such as pain, hunger, emotions, etc., which also means that when there is an internal problem, it is up to this system. initiate the healing process.
The consumption of CBD increases the production of endocannabinoids in the body, thus improving the healing process.
By using CBD oil for essential tremor, the cannabinoids in the oil can target and regulate the ECS receptors responsible for muscle movement.
These are located in the brain and throughout the body. By regulating these receptors, CBD oil provides relaxation, reduces inflammation, and relieves symptoms of tremors.
Studies have confirmed these interactions and confirmed that CBD can effectively act as a neuroprotector 2 .
There has been a lot of interest recently in existing research, and CBD may be on its way to becoming an official treatment for essential tremor.
Indeed, it was the University of California at San Diego Research that officially started a trial on the effects of CBD and THC on essential tremors.
The trial has been approved by the FDA and the results are expected to be published in late 2019.
The principal investigator of this clinical trial, Dr. Fatta Nahab, is passionate about finding a treatment for essential tremor using CBD. She shared her opinion, saying “Essential tremor is 10 times more common than Parkinson’s and yet no one really knows about essential tremor.
That we can finally find a potential therapeutic treatment is a big step forward.

CBD For Essential Tremor: Dosage And Usage
There are two ways to take CBD for essential tremor. Also, since everyone reacts to CBD differently, we recommend that you experiment with which method works best for you.
Sublingual
CBD oil comes in a small bottle with a pipette. A few drops are placed under the tongue, then the oil is absorbed by the body.
Vaping CBD e-liquids
A faster way to experience relief and one of the most popular natural remedies for essential tremor is to vape CBD e-liquids.
The vapour enters the lungs and quickly reaches the bloodstream, providing a calming (non-psychoactive) effect.
When it comes to dosage, there is no one-size-fits-all method. So you need to listen to your body and take note of the improvement.
We always recommend that you start with a low dose, as described in the book “CBD: A Patient’s Guide To Medical Cannabis” by Leonard Leinow.
For example, it is best to start with 1 drop, 3 times a day, and gradually increase the dose every 3 days, until you reach 3 drops, 3 times a day. On average, 25 mg per day is sufficient for a person whose symptoms are not severe.
Conclusion
CBD can be effective against essential tremors. The “contraction” movements can be reduced considerably, allowing normal daily activities to be carried out.
There is some evidence that CBD works for a large number of people. As a safe and inexpensive treatment (compared to other drug and surgical treatments), it is an effective way to improve daily life.
Essential tremors do not always need to be treated. If they don’t have a serious and regular impact on the day-to-day, then an alternative treatment like CBD may be sufficient.
You’ve probably heard that antioxidants are good for you. Why are we encouraged to eat foods rich in antioxidants? What are these substances? What benefits do they have on the body?
Antioxidants are simply substances capable of inhibiting oxidation, and therefore reducing oxidative stress. Oxidation is a process in which waste products are generated by the body’s reactions.
The process also causes the creation of free radicals.
On its own, the body produces some antioxidants, such as glutathione and CoQ10, but these are not always sufficient to prevent the creation of free radicals.
This is particularly the case as we age, and oxidative stress increases significantly. That’s why it’s important to get enough antioxidants from other sources.

How do antioxidants work?
Antioxidants can support the loss of an oxygen molecule without becoming unstable. They bind to unruly free radicals to neutralize them and end the damage done.
You have surely heard that free radicals are responsible for a large number of diseases associated with age.
Diseases such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and chronic inflammation are often caused by these free radicals. You may be wondering why this is the case.
Our bodies produce fewer antioxidants as we age. This means that free radicals can wreak havoc in the body without being neutralized. They can attack all body systems and cause serious damage.
