Yet another basic concept of A Program in Wonders is the indisputable fact that the physical world can be an illusion. It posits our physical experiences are unreliable signs of fact and that true perception can only just be achieved via a shift in consciousness. The Course distinguishes involving the “real life,” which really is a state of peace and oneness beyond the substance realm, and the “pride world,” indicated by concern, separation, and conflict. In accordance with ACIM, our principal function is always to awaken from the desire of the vanity world and return to the understanding of our heavenly nature.
ACIM also introduces the thought of the Sacred Nature as a guide and instructor within the individual. That spiritual presence is seen as the foundation of motivation and knowledge, helping people make choices that a course in miracles cause people nearer to truth and away from illusion. The Class shows that through our willingness to listen to the Holy Spirit’s advice, we could access a greater knowledge of our function and the road to healing.
The Book for Pupils in A Program in Miracles consists of 365 instructions, one for every time of the year. These classes are created to support students internalize the teachings and use them to their day-to-day lives. They usually include meditative and contemplative exercises, affirmations, and insights on the methods presented in the text. The objective of these everyday classes is always to change the student’s belief and attitude steadily, major them towards a situation of true forgiveness, internal peace, and religious awakening.
The Manual for Teachers, the next element of ACIM, is directed at those individuals who have embraced the axioms of the Course and feel required to talk about them with others. It offers advice on the traits of a true instructor of Lord, focusing qualities such as persistence, trust, and an open heart. It acknowledges the difficulties and obstacles one may encounter while teaching the Class and offers ideas on how best to understand them.
