Shiffrin, 95th World Cup alpine skiing win Slovakia Championship Winner
Shiffrin wins Slovakia competition
Mikayla Shiffrin (USA) achieved her 95th career win at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine World Cup.
Shiffrin won the 2023-2024 FIS Alpine World Cup women’s slalom event held in Jasna, Slovakia on the 21st (local time) with a total time of 1 minute 48.21 seconds in the first and second periods.
Shiffrin, who earned her 7th win this season and her 95th career World Cup win, earned her 150th World Cup medal.
Of the 95 wins, 58 came in slalom, and 82 of the 150 World Cup medals came in slalom events.
Winning 82 medals in a single event at the Alpine World Cup set a new record.
In addition to Shiffrin, the men’s Ingemar Stenmark (retired, Sweden) also won 81 medals in slalom alone.
Shiffrin also further inflated the possibility of becoming the first player in history to surpass 100 Alpine World Cup wins within this season.
There are three slalom races left this season, Shiffrin’s main event, and four giant slalom races, where Shiffrin is also strong.
In addition, Shiffrin’s strong rival, Petra Vlova (Slovakia), injured her right knee during a game the previous day, making it difficult for her to participate in the rest of the season, so Shiffrin is expected to accumulate wins faster.
Shiffrin and Vlova are the strongest players in this category, having shared 14 wins out of the last 15 World Cup slalom races.
This season, Shiffrin swept 5 wins and Vlova swept 3 wins in 8 slalom races. 섯다
