Why Bisleri is synonymous with 'mineral water' itself?
Bisleri Ltd was purchased by the Parle group in the year 1969 from Signor Felice Bisleri, an Italian entrepreneur. Since then, the company has been making several contributions to the packaged water industry. Mineral water and packaged drinking water has a major difference in mineral constituents. Bisleri, the most popular household packaged drinking water brand is synonymous with “mineral water” brands. The reason behind this is the addition of important minerals to the pure drinking water externally.
How is mineral water and packaged drinking water different? While looking for the best-bottled mineral water, you must know the basic differences between them. Mineral water is collected from natural sources like underground water reservoirs and mineral water springs and undergoes one or a two-step treatment. This water is rich in minerals like magnesium, potassium, bicarbonates, calcium, sodium, zinc, and iron. On the other hand, Packaged drinking water is collected from any water source like lakes, and rivers, and is treated inside large water plants. It undergoes several steps which makes it lose all the important minerals or leaves some traces behind. Though this water is safe for drinking, it is not rich in minerals and doesn’t contribute to your health.
However, Bisleri is commonly known as mineral water. Why is it so? In Bisleri’s water treatment plant, the water is collected after several quality testing processes. This water then undergoes two-step Ozonisation, multiple filtrations, reverse osmosis, mineralisation, and quality tests. Ozonisation is performed at the beginning and the end of the water treatment where ozone kills the harmful bacteria and gets rid of unwanted particles. Sand filter, Carbon filter, and micron filter are used to remove particles measuring less than 0.46 microns. The Carbon filter though is used to get rid of colors, odor, and harmful pesticides if any. Reverse Osmosis is common for all water treatment plants. Here the excess minerals and salts are removed. This at times leaves a little or no trace of minerals. TDS or Total Dissolved Salts in packaged drinking water is the most important spike in deciding the best-bottled mineral water. To compete fairly and being a brand synonymous with mineral water brands, Bisleri has added mineralisation at step six. The right amount of vital minerals are added back to the pure drinking water. Adding minerals imparts a sweet taste and makes the water healthy to drink. This step has helped the products from Bisleri to have an appreciable TDS level. Finally, the bottling procedure is carried out carefully along with several quality control measures. All the quality testings are performed in government-approved labs for a better result and encounter consumer trust.
Bisleri is now available in different sized bottles and containers to fulfill consumer demand or fits well with the occasion. And one can easily check its label mentioned as mineral water. True indeed, all the necessary steps are taken at Bisleri to offer pure drinking water and even an initiative taken to add minerals offers health benefits. This water is not only safe for drinking but also can be used for cooking. The TDS level in the water makes sure that it is fit to consume, tastes good, doesn’t harm your health, and will not affect your food taste when used in cooking.
Minerals are important for your body, similar to water. Different minerals have their advantages. Therefore, it is always suggested to look for mineral water brands or a packaged water brand like Bisleri. Local brands tend to treat the water but don’t focus on adding the mineral benefits to it. Though it is good to consume them but is not a healthy option and can affect your body adversely.
