My Digital Nomad journey thus far
Wow, what a journey! All I can say is that I am SO grateful that I made the decision to become a Digital Nomad. Thank you Q Academy for teaching me the ropes and getting me on my feet so that I can have the ultimate freedom lifestyle and adventures. I thought I would give you all a little recap of where I have been and where I am going to go next!
London England
This was my very first stop on my journey. I was in complete and udder awe of the history here. I was admiring painting from the 1100’s, while drinking beer in a pub that was from the early 1700’s! This was my first introduction to being on this side of the world and boy was it ever amazing to witness this history. Makes my home country of Canada seem like a baby!
Portugal
Portugal is absolutely incredible. Most of my time has been in Lagos, which is in the south. I was fortunate to spend this time with my father whom I do not get to see very often. (That’s what happens when your whole family lives the jet-setter lifestyle!) Lagos is full of stunning scenery, with gorgeous blue waters and limestone formations.
After Lagos, I did a journey up north towards Lisbon, Sintra and Porto. Sintra had the most magnificent castles, some were super colorful and others had the most incredible fairy tale gardens! Make sure you check out Quinta De Regaleria, which is located in Sintra. When you go to Portugal, do NOT miss Porto! Not only is it absolutely beautiful, but it also has amazing and cheap Port wine! After all, that is where the delicious Port wine comes from.
Marrkech, Morocco
I can say that my journey to Morocco was the most exhilarating, yet humbling experience as a traveler sofar. I have been to many countries, but nothing compares to the experience of being in a Muslim country like this. Their way of life is so much different, and I also had to make sure I was dressed appropriately to respect their culture and way of being. I went to Marrekech, and also got to scratch an experience off my bucket list, riding a camel in the Sahara desert. This experience was unbelievable, and the coolest part about it was that my father came with me! Marrakech had some of the most grandiose buildings with the finest details and tiles like I have never imagined in my life.
Seville, Spain
Holy guacamole! You must journey over to Seville if you are in Spain. This whole entire city is like a museum! The details in the Plaza De Espana are incredible, and that is just one building out of the many! I have to say though, that the cathedral was the most inspiring and STUNNING architecture I have been to in my life. I am not religious, but I am in complete admiration in the details, hard work and history that went into creating this masterpiece of a cathedral!
Switzerland
The winner of the most beautiful scenery thus far, goes to Switzerland! I feel like I am in a magical dream, the Swiss Alps, covered in a blanket of cozy snow is something that everyone needs to add to their bucket list! I was fortunate enough to budget right and was able to spend a day Snowboarding at Rinerhorn Mountain. This was very costly to rent all the gear and clothing needed but completely worth it!
Next on my Digital Nomad journey, I head to Thailand! I will be spending New Years eve there and going to spend some time on the islands, relaxing and training Muay Thai! I will also be attending the World Nomad Summit in Chiang Mai, Thailand! This is an event with other Digital Nomads from around the world where we listen to talks from successful entrepreneurs and end the event with a pool party (of course!).
With love, health and happiness,
