ICMEI and BIS Spearhead Seminar on Standards in Media and Entertainment Industry
New Delhi – The International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) joined forces with the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India, to host a momentous seminar focusing on “Standards in Media and Entertainment” at the prestigious Bureau of Indian Standards Head Office in New Delhi on Thursday, 27th July.
The seminar aimed to address the paramount significance of standardized practices within the diverse realms of the Indian Media and Entertainment Industry. Distinguished personalities and leaders from various segments of the industry including print media, radio, television, new media, events, music, and media education participated, underscoring the necessity to establish and adhere to comprehensive standards in the fast-evolving landscape of media and entertainment.
Sandeep Marwah, the esteemed President of ICMEI, along with his roles as Chair of the Entertainment & AVGC Committee in PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chair of the Media & Entertainment Committee in BIS, led the conference with his insightful and visionary address. He passionately highlighted the pressing need for standardization across the sector to drive excellence, efficiency, and uniformity.
During his speech, Marwah emphasized, “The media and entertainment industry in India has witnessed remarkable growth and transformation over the years. As we continue to innovate and explore new frontiers, it becomes essential to uphold standardized practices across the board. Whether it is content creation, distribution, education, or technology, adherence to robust standards will not only enhance the quality of our offerings but also boost consumer confidence and strengthen the industry’s global standing.”
