One Act of Kindness Can Change the World: Here’s How
But how do you showcase kindness in everyday life? There are so many ways to be kind and good to others! Even joining a CSR volunteering activity is a great start. After all, having a good heart and being kind makes this world tick. Giving back to the community can bring peace to your mind and life.
This article sheds light on the little acts of kindness that can change the world. Even if it feels trivial, you need to embrace kindness and contribute to the planet and its people.
Kindness Is a Powerful Force
Does being unkind or rude to someone bring you happiness or pride? Try bullying someone or making another person feel small. A person who is rude to others cannot get a peaceful sleep. But one act of kindness can make you feel proud, happy, and at peace.
Kindness fills your life with joy and peace.
You feel happy when you offer a piece of bread to a stray. Even though there are billions of strays worldwide, you did your bit to end the hunger of one voiceless creature.
When you’re kind, your heart and mind feel at ease, which is why we endorse the idea of kindness.
You Don’t Have to Be Rich to Be Kind
A recent video circulated on social media caught our attention. It showed a pauper celebrating his birthday with two stray drugs. The news clipping referred to the man as having a heart of gold. He did not do it for publicity or quick fame. Rather, the man was kind enough to share his special day with many strays.
Another video showcased a young woman gifting a weighing machine to an old lady. The old lady was begging on the streets, so the young woman taught her how to use the machine and charge it. Even if you can’t permanently change a poor person’s or dog’s situation, you can be kind.
A little act of kindness can go a long way, and yes, it can change society.
Random Acts of Kindness: Things You Can Do in Everyday Life
- Offer a glass of water to the delivery person. It could be a food delivery person or someone delivering a package of clothes, electronic items, etc.
- If you find a stray on the road, offer water, biscuits, or anything you may have. The dog may be hungry.
- Offer a seat to an older lady or man on the train or bus.
- If you find a pregnant lady on the bus or train, offer the seat to her.
- If a blind man is lost, help him cross the road or ask them where they would like to go.
- Be kind to waiters and servers. Speak to them in a gentle voice.
- Offer an umbrella to your guests and help in case it is raining outside.
- Teach underprivileged kids without charging them. This is possible if you can take out a little time.
- Do not be rude to your juniors in the office. Hear them out when they have something to say.
- If you notice an accident on the road, stop and check if the person has any help around. If there is no help, call the cops and get them medical help.
- If someone shares with you that they’re suffering from depression, do not dismiss them. Hear them about it and convince them to seek professional help. Depression can be suicidal and dangerous.
- Listen to people. They may have something to say, but your actions might not comfort them.
- Volunteer at a non-profit organization. These organizations need helping hands!
- Raise funds for a cause such as animal welfare, child welfare, donation of blood, etc.
These are just some small ways to help a group of people, animals, and a cause. Does this require you to have a strong bank balance? No! All you need is a big heart and a bit of willingness.
Why Complain About the Rest of the World When You Can Change It?
It’s easy to sit down, watch television, and complain about the rest of the world. While people should do something about the current state of the world and help others, you can also stand up and do your part. Kindness is so powerful that even if you do one random act, others will get inspired and try to be kind too.
Even if you can’t end hunger or suffering in the world, you should not be the cause of someone else’s suffering or hunger.
