Stages Of Hajj
Step 1: Have a clear goal
The first and most important part of doing Hajj is having a pure intention. You can’t get anything out of your Hajj if you don’t have a good heart.
Stages Of Hajj
“If you want to go on Hajj, clean your heart of anything that keeps you from Allah SWT.”
The goal and purpose of Hajj is to show submission to God and say prayers and supplications. A pilgrim asks Allah for forgiveness and bows down in front of his Creator. Because of this, pilgrims must put aside their physical desires and focus on obeying God and praying to get the rewards of the next life and avoid the punishments of the next life.
Step Two: Being sorry
Repentance is the second step, which comes after the pure intention. To start the Hajj, you have to clean yourself, just like you have to clean yourself before you can pray.
“Then wash away your sins with the water of repentance,” he said.
Before going on the Hajj or entering the state of Ihram, a person must clean himself because he or she is going to God’s house.
Stage Three: Tell the world goodbye
Hajj is the best way to worship Allah, and it should be done only for His sake. One of the things that pilgrims must do is let go of their attachments to things that are not godly. They must also leave behind the comforts and attractions of the world. When a person starts the Hajj journey, he or she must assume that he or she will never come back. He or she must write a will and testament so that if he or she dies during the journey, his or her finances will be taken care of. Allah SWT will look out for his family, because He is the best Protector. In Holy Quran Allah SWT says:
“But Allah is the best Keeper, and He is the kindest of all the kind.”
Stage Four: Mahram
On your Hajj journey, you must bring a Mahram with you. Mahram is someone you can’t get married to. Women are not allowed to travel by themselves without their Mahrams. But women over 40 can travel with the groups on their own. With Na Mahram, you can’t do Hajj.
Another thing pilgrims should remember is to be kind and keep a good attitude. Having a good attitude during Hajj is a good thing, and you should remember that you are in the House of God, the one who made the whole universe, and that you are a guest of the Supreme. So, be kind to other Muslim brothers and don’t get angry.
Stage Five: Places to stop
Miqat is the place where pilgrims enter the holy state of Ihram. The five places below serve as Miqat. Masjid ash Shajarah, Juhafah, Al-Aqiq, Yalamlam and Qarn Al-Manaazil.
Mataaf:
Mataaf is the first step in entering the Holy City of Makkah, where Allah’s Messenger was born and where the Holy Quran was given. In the holy Haram, Muslims make seven trips around the Kabah. This is called Tawaf. The act of Tawaf shows the highest level of love that is not based on anything.
Mas’aa:
After making a full circle around the Kabah, pilgrims must do Sa’ey. Sa’ey is running seven times between Mount Safa and Mount Marwah, starting at Mount Safa and ending at Mount Marwah. In the Holy Quran, Allah SWT says, “The Safa and the Marwah are among the signs that Allah has set up.”
Mina:
On the first day of the 8th Zilhajj, pilgrims go to Mina, where they have to spend the rest of the day. On the first night, there are no big rituals, so you should spend your time praying or making supplications. Pilgrims come here to pray at Dhuhr, Asr, Magrib, Isha, and Fajr.
Mount Arafat:
On the second day of the Hajj, pilgrims go to a nearby mountain called Arafat. Pilgrims must get to Arafat by the afternoon, because this is when the Waquf ritual is done. Pilgrims hold a vigil on the plain of Arafat from the time the sun starts to go down until it goes completely down. During this time, they pray and think.
Al-Mashar Al-Haram:
The next day, after staying in the plain of Arafat, is the eve of Eid-ul-Adha. Now, the pilgrims need to move toward Al-Mashar Al-Haram with the light of God so they can spend the night in al-Haram and go to another banquet of God.
After the sun comes up on Eid-ul-Adha, pilgrims must make sacrifices. On the 10th, 11th, or 12th day of Zilhajj, an animal can be sacrificed at any time. In the past, each pilgrim did Qurbani on their own. Now, there are millions of pilgrims, so it is much more common for them to just buy a sacrifice voucher. With these vouchers, an animal will be killed in your name.
Ramy is an important and required part of the Hajj in Mina. At Jamara al Aqabah, people throw seven pebbles in a row. At this ceremony, it’s best to be patient because it’s very crowded and emotional, and a number of people have died here. Care for the old, sick, and disabled.
Going to the Kabah and kissing the Black Stone:
It is called Istilam to kiss the Hajra e Aswad. Istilam means to touch or kiss the Black Stone with your hands or mouth. Every Muslim wants to touch this holy stone of Jannah, but if they can’t because there are so many people, they can touch it with a stick and kiss the stick instead.
