When one decides to keep plants at home or at house gardens/ terrace, one has to make a proper plan before going out and buying plants.

One has to be knowledgeable enough so that they can ensure they can get some beautiful and suitable plants for their house. One can head out to the nursery and choose plants or one can also choose from the online plant nursery but these are the few things to keep in mind before buying them:

  • One has to make proper planning before buying plants. It is very important to have a clear idea of the size of the garden or the terrace or the balcony where one is going to place the new plants. One has to check the exposure of the area first. Is the area filled with day light or is it a shady patch? How much room is there for the plants to grow? If the area is large enough then one can buy small plants accordingly. Also, what type of soil one has? The soils are mainly of 3 types loam, clay and sandy and some plants need a specific type.

  • Falling in love with lush green plants is very easy. One always gives away their heart to the blooming plants in the nursery but it is not a good idea to go for an impulsive buy. This can reduce the chance of the survival of the plant feeble if it does not suit the climate and soil of the house. Hence one has to do a little bit of research before buying any plant.

  • Most of the plants when bought come with their own instruction manuals and one has to follow that information properly. There will be written the name of the plant, how tall it will grow and when is the season for it to bloom. It will also be instructed on how to water it and how much exposure it needs. One can follow that so that the plant can grow healthy.

  • One should never buy unhealthy plants. If they are going to a nursery to buy plants there are some signs with which one can recognise if the plant is healthy or not. If the leaves are yellow then it can be the nutrient deficiency of the plant. If the roots of the plants have started to grow in circles then it becomes hard for them to absorb water and other nutrients. Hence it is a good idea to avoid buying those plants. Some plants in the nursery can also harbour harmful diseases and pests and one must stay away from them as well.

  • Though flowering plants attract the buyers most, it is better to choose buds over blooms always.

There is no need to fear about buying small plants because though they take time to grow but they grow healthy and get more accustomed to the ambience they are put in. If one is about to purchase plants online they need to check what plants they are buying.
