Chakra Healing for Optimal Health
A lot of people are looking for natural healing remedies. Alternative health practices are very popular right now because they take a more preventative approach to healthcare and treat the root cause of the illness rather than the symptoms of the illness. People are turning away from western health and turning towards eastern health.
The chakras are one of the oldest healing systems in the world. They are little disc shaped energy centers along the spine. There are hundreds of chakras in the body, but seven that we hear the most about. The Muladhara chakra or root chakra, the Svadhisthana chakra or sacral chakra, and the Manipura Chakra, or solar plexus chakra are probably the three most well known.
The root chakra is the base chakra. It is located at the base of the spine. In Sanskrit, it is known as the Muladhara chakra. Its function is to help people stay grounded. It has to do with your roots and your connection to larger systems such as family and community. It has to do with your ability to be centered, focused, and grounded. It keeps you plugged into reality. When you feel that you are floating with no direction, your root chakra may be out of balance.
The Svadhisthana chakra or the sacral chakra is located in the pelvic area. It is your center of creativity and sensuality. This is where your inspiration for art comes from, your appreciation of music and all things creative. If you have writer’s block or feel like you don’t have the ability to focus or tune into art or creative things, it could be that your sacral chakra is out of balance. This is also the center of your sensuality.
The Manipura chakra or solar plexus chakra is right above the naval. It is the center of your self-esteem and self-worth. The solar plexus chakra is responsible for making sure that we feel good about ourselves and believe in ourselves. If you are feeling bad about yourself or your confidence is wavering, it is totally possible that your solar plexus chakra is out of balance.
All of the chakras have colors that are associated with them and you may have seen the popular chakra images with the colors going up and down the spine. The root chakra is a deep red, garnet shade. The sacral chakra is orange in color. The solar plexus chakra is yellow. Above these chakras are the heart chakra, the throat chakra, the third eye chakra, and the crown chakra. The three chakras that are most well known are the base level chakras. In order for the upper chakras to be in line, the lower chakras must first be in line.
