10 Best NPCs In Sports Story
There are a lot of interesting NPCs to meet in Sports Story. Here are the best ones.
At their best, NPCs are the driving force of a game. They are the thing that takes a good story and makes it great. They are the beating heart of a world that would otherwise be boring. At their worst, they mislead players away from their goals and mess up the game’s rhythm, which is very important.
The NPCs in Sports Story are somewhere in the middle. Most of the time, they add wit and humor, but sometimes they add to the confusion in a complicated quest that tries to copy the success of Golf Story. Still, these are the people you won’t want to miss as you explore the Rustling Vale, the Wildlands, and other places.
The Pirates: Buccaneers Of Land And Sea
These swashbuckling rogues will show up again and again as you play Sports Story. They first appear as cannon-firing beach invaders at the start of the game.
Pirates from the Wildlands use doubloons as money and measure distances in nautical miles. They play by a different set of rules than you, a so-called “Tamelander,” who might end up needing their creativity more than you think. But they also have a softer side. When the Wildlands get too harsh, they go ashore to spend their orange tokens and take a break.
The Iron Dragons: Rustling Vale’s Trash Talkers
Even though they like to use samurai swords to cut sunflowers and baseball bats to hit golf carts, the gang that is threatening the Rustling Vale is more bark than bite. They seem to have bought the Vale’s golf course, and it’s up to you to figure out who in their right mind could have sold it to these “criminals.”
But this menagerie of people with ties to the Yakuza doesn’t seem to have shaken the farmers and lumberjacks who live in the town. They are mostly indifferent to the newcomers’ rowdy behavior. Talking to the locals will teach you a thing or two about how to deal with them.
The Slybeaks: All-Seeing, All-Knowing
The birds that live in Rustling Vale and are “dangerously smart” know a thing or two about drama. People in the town are afraid of them but respect them. They “know too much” about what’s going on in the town, you’ll often hear in a conversation.
They’ve been locked up in cages all over the area and need help to get out. Despite this, they seem to have at least one friend who really appreciates how smart they are. Find them and work with Scooter the Slybeak to get the help you need to figure out the Vale’s deepest secrets.
Moon: The Little Sister You Didn’t Ask For
Moon would definitely be near the top of a list of the coolest NPC names in Sports Story. Moon is the third and final member of your PureStrike Open team. He is a young golf prodigy who seems to spend more time practicing than having fun as a kid.
After she gets away from her strict father and makes friends with Lara, you can show her how to have fun at the mall’s Skygolf Arcade. Just don’t let her talk you into getting penguin tattoos that match hers.
Robert The Best: A Braggadocious Pretty Boy
Robert the Best is the most cocky knight-in-waiting in the Royal Gardens. When the Queen isn’t there, he guards the fort, or more accurately, the castle. This want tobe “Sir” loves nothing more than to get in your way when you’re trying to meet the Queen, and he never thinks you could have finished his challenges in a fair way.
Try to stay on his good side, though, because he’s looking for a reason to kill the next cheater he finds. You can’t blame the guy for wanting to keep his Queen’s kingdom safe, but some people might say he takes his job a little too seriously.
The Codsworth Family
“Codsworths don’t forget,” but they are about six months behind on paying a certain vengeful overlord a tribute of fish. People say that no one ever comes back from the job, but if anyone can do it, it’s a Codsworth.
Just across the water from the Pelican Waters Pro Shop, you can find the family of anglers hanging out in their dockside bungalow. Coraline, Elsworth, and their son Chase live a simple life, but their connection to the water gives them a depth of wisdom that few other non-player characters in Sports Story can match.
The Queen: A Spirited Ruler
Like many other NPCs in Sports Story, once you meet the Queen, you’ll quickly find out that there’s more to her than meets the eye. But once you do, you’ll find out how much she has to offer in response to your efforts to warn her about PureStrike’s not-so-pure intentions.
The Queen is a smart leader, and her house is by far the coolest in Happy Wheels game. Castle? Check. On-site mini golf? You bet. A café with a full staff right next to her throne room? Obviously. You won’t want to leave once you’re in her castle. Life is good for a Sports Story royal.
Ron: The Eco-Conscious Barista
Ron could be the most honest person in the whole Wildlands. He runs Ron’s RRR, which he says is “the first and only 100% reclaimed café in the world.” So, you might ask, what does he claim?
Well, if Ron is to be believed, he takes dehydrated Royal Roast Runoff coffee from the Queen’s castle cafe, rehydrates it, and sells it for a lot less than you would pay outside the Wildlands. Spend some time there and order a drink. You’ll feel good about giving your hard-earned money to a local business.
The GWRGA Club: Endurance Or Nothing
This high-octane group of endurance athletes can’t seem to sit still, even though they are dressed to the nines. But if you’ve ever had runner’s high, you’ll understand why the GWRGA is so excited about the idea of perpetual motion.
Some of the members can be found in the back room of the Wildlands Saloon, where they meet. The only way to join this exclusive club and enjoy its benefits is to show that you have superior endurance. You will have to find your own stylish outfit, as it doesn’t appear to be included.
Monty Wheeler: The Endearing Teacher
Monty Wheeler is a drills teacher at the Tennis Academy. He wears a blue and white jacket and wears a sweatband across his forehead. He is known as Mr. Wheeler by his students, and in the ten years he has taught at the academy, he has never met a student more talented than Josie Berkenborsch.
If you ask Mr. Wheeler about Josie, he will talk about how hard he worked at drills and how they both liked porridge. His motto is ABD, which stands for “Always Be Drillin’,” and that’s what you’ll be doing as long as you’re under his care.
